To be honest, I'm picturing this as an illustrated children's book, except obviously not for children. On the whole it's a simple tale but rather nice. I found the innocence of the Lord a little irritating. What did they do, lock the squires up every night? Or did they just bang the page boys? * The whipping scene was pretty decent, but again there wasn't a whole lot of depth involved. And I'm not talking about fucking. When you write a story for adults, its not just whether it's X rated or not, but whether it contains the necessary complexity that appeals to an adult mind. Granted, talking about appealing complexity when applied to BDSM Library readers may be a bit ironic, especially what we're all here looking for, but in essence this story, and the other Abe story I've read today "Frozen Love" were both simplistic, no matter how awesome the plot concept was. While I enjoyed reading "Nobless Obliqe", this was LIGHT reading. Sort of like eating a cheese pizza, knowing there is a supreme cooking in the oven. Does Abe make any supreme pizzas? You know, for grown-ups? * From a plot perspective, I really liked this. My fellow reviewer Major Littmann says this isn't the best example of this genre, but I haven't really run across a lot of these medieval type stories before, especially with the deflowering of brides custom. I'd heard about it, but this was the first story I'd read about it. Frankly, I found the peasant's desires for Else to be so brutally tortured and raped to be... fucking awesome. Makes me want to be a lord. * In summary we've got a really decent, fun story that will take you five minutes to read, will get you hard, and won't tax your brain or make you really empathize with anyone, especially Else. But if you need something to get you in the mood, read away. * Yours Faithfully, Michael Alexander (www.michaelalexanderstories.com) (8/10)

Except for minor editing, this is the same story written for and published by Circlet Press in their anthology, SM Past. I own the copyright, but I thought I should mention Circlet. (10/10)

- Surely that's not allowed, giving yourself 10/10
If it is allowed then I'll give kidnap and Evaline May 10/10 as well!

Not the best example of this genre but a pleasing tale none the less, and the potential for a whole catalogue of further parts... (8/10)
