i am not big into hsyirical fiction but you make it enjoyable (8/10)

Reviewer: BrazenBitch (Edit) Rating: May 20, 2006
well, i do love historical fiction, especially from one who has true writing ability such as this author. one thing: i kept getting thrown off the otherwise interesting story by the weird word "warrioress" because it just ruins the rhythm of your writing. the much more correct term would be gladiatrix - http://www.gladiatrix.info - would like to have given it 7.5 (7/10)

Dear BrazenBitch,
Thank you for your Review and associated thoughts.
And as for differing nomenclature, apologies if the term used here proved too distracting.
"Gladiatrix" has been previously used in much of my attempts at historical fiction. You may wish to see those located in the Archives for this site.

A fine start, with the usual Faibhar skill at historical settings. Looking forwards to more.
Only question: is the nephew a time traveler? (9/10)

Dear chksng19,
Thank you, once more, for your fine Review.
As for the nephew being a "time traveler", that is a good observation.
While not perhaps historically accurate you will kindly note some precedent has been set, e.g. the earlier "Zima and Gullible" tales.
Please look for Pt. 5 & the conclusion sometime next week.
Glad you enjoyed the read so far.

Typical Faibhar. Well written and descriptive. Not an unusual plot for him but interesting nevertheless (8/10)

Dear Faithful Friend of the Masked Man,
Oh no! Not "typical" :).
It is a good exercise to at least attempt to innovate each piece, while still respecting the reader. Granted, certain themes do resonate, but each has its own little quirks; in this case multiple 1st persons.
Thank you, again, for your fine Review and glad that you enjoyed reading so far this ("typical") tale.
